I served as Head of Audit and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) on an interim basis, leading the Audit and GRC teams and representing them in key organisational forums, including the Audit Committee. I worked closely with senior executives across the organisation to support the team’s objectives, deliver reports and papers, maintain quality outputs, and ensure stability during a period of transition.
I reviewed the Council’s existing governance and compliance arrangements and developed practical recommendations to strengthen governance frameworks. Working closely with the Board and staff, I helped ensure their policies, practices and frameworks were fit for purpose and sustainable into the future.
I led an independent review of Strategic Procurement and Contracting for the Chief Operating Officer, supported by a small consulting team. The final report was presented to the ATO Executive Committee, providing targeted recommendations to enhance procurement efficiency and compliance.
As Transition Advisor for the newly established Northern Territory Aboriginal Investment Corporation (NTAIC), I supported the Interim CEO and leadership team to build a strong governance foundation. This included establishing systems and processes to manage $500 million in investments and $60 million in annual grant funding for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Territorians
I completed a Finance Health Check for a team that had been working remotely for almost 18 months and was beginning to reshape its footprint outside Canberra. The review assessed capability, workload pressures and workflow impacts created by hybrid work, and identified practical steps to support the team through the transition back to the office. The recommendations helped the program position itself for long-term stability and improved performance.
I provided advice and quality assurance to the COVID-19 Response Taskforce, supporting the implementation of the National Plan for recovery. My work included scenario planning, developing implementation products, and preparing materials to inform National Cabinet.
I led a legislative and policy compliance health check across a Defence agency’s core functions. The review identified residual risks and established remedial processes to ensure confidence in ongoing effectiveness and compliance.
